Looking Back at 2016

2016 was the organization's first full year as HEALTHLINK DENTAL CLINIC and its 15th year since opening its doors in 2001.

Last year, 1,779 patients visited the clinic for a total of 2,662 appointments. This represents about a 35% increase from 2015.

HealthLink provided an array of preventative and restorative dental services to its patients:

• 1,534 fillings

• 791 cleanings

• 507 x-rays

• 293 deep cleanings

• 258 new patient exams

• 240 extractions

• 95 root canals

• 11 crowns

$720,853 in oral health services were provided in 2016 at HealthLink Dental Clinic. This equates to $405 in free dental care provided per patient seen at the clinic.

For every $1.00 spent to operate the clinic, $1.31 in dental services were provided to low-income adults for free.

In March 2016, HealthLink partnered with Temple University's Kornberg School of Dentistry to expand the services available to HealthLink patient on-site and at no-cost. Students performed 82 root canals and other other dental services for a total value of $75,425 in free dental care to patients.

The clinic's small staff was aided by dental professionals and administrative volunteers who donated 1,861 hours of their time to serving HealthLink's mission in 2016.
