We couldn't let dental hygiene students, Kate and Maria, leave their rotation with us without giving them a major shout out for their hard work and dedication.
Kate and Maria are both in their final semester at Montgomery County Community College's Dental Hygiene School.
The two both found themselves at HealthLink to complete their very last clinical rotation, and even though they were only with us for two days, they quickly learned how great of an impact they could have on others (and the patients on them), in such a short amount of time.
"This was actually my second rotation at HealthLink, and it was cool because it had been six months since my last rotation, but that meant I got to see some of the same patients twice since they were due for their next cleaning. I had no clue that they would actually remember a little student from Montco six months later, but a lot of them did, and they were incredibly grateful for their cleanings. The patients are so happy to be here, and it was such a great experience to spend time serving others in public health during my rotations, " said Kate.
Maria had a similar experience.
"I actually called my husband crying on my way home from HealthLink because it was such a different experience having patients who didn't look nervous to be having a student do their cleaning. Instead, they were appreciative that I was there to do it and to help them. It was so moving and such a great feeling."
We know Kate and Maria will go on to make a difference and do incredible work as dental hygienists in our community.
When asked why they want to become dental hygienists and what they might do after graduation, here is what they said:
Kate
"My time at HealthLink opened my eyes a lot and I think I want to get my public health certificate so I can perhaps work at a free clinic one day like HealthLink. My experience here definitely solidified that for me. I think this is why Montco keeps choosing to include HealthLink in student rotations, because it is a reminder that we really have the power to impact other people's lives as dental hygienists.
After graduation, regardless of where I end up, I just love the idea of being able to help people better themselves through their smiles because our smiles build confidence and allow people to get out there and be their best."
Maria
"I realized during my time at HealthLink that I really do want to stay in public health after I graduate and get my public health certificate. I think it is hard to get people to want to work and dedicate time to their community unless you experience the atmosphere like I did.
The whole experience from start to finish for a patient is just different here and watching Jen (Office Manager at HealthLink) make the patients feel so welcome, and the fact she would often speak Spanish to help some patients feel more comfortable was so great to see."

I noticed that eggy car runs smoothly even on older computers. That's not often seen in free online games these days, and it makes the game a lot more fun.
I really love Drew House’s unique and cozy streetwear vibe! The smiley logo always brings such positive energy. I found Eggy Car while looking for quick browser games, and now it’s become one of my favorites. No downloads, just instant gameplay.
One thing that stands out about Drive Mad is the vehicle handling. Small adjustments can make a huge difference when navigating tricky platforms and ramps.
Kate and Maria’s dedication truly made a positive impact during their time at HealthLink! スイカゲーム
