April is Oral, Head, and Neck Cancer Awareness Month!

It is so important to raise awareness surrounding oral cancer and how to prevent it or catch it early - as an early diagnosis can more than double a patient's chances for survival.

Here are some facts:

Oral cancer develops in the tissues of the mouth or throat. It belongs to a larger group of cancers called head and neck cancers. Most develop in the squamous cells found in your mouth, tongue, and lips.
Approximately 58,500 people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with oral cancer in 2024.
One person dies from oral cancer every hour of every day in the U.S.
Tobacco, alcohol, and HPV are all risk factors.
